Texas Nurse Practitioners (TNP) 2026 Annual Conference
Thursday, September 24 – Saturday, September 26, 2026
The Texas Nurse Practitioners (TNP) Education Committee invites submissions for abstracts to present at the TNP 2026 Annual Conference. You may submit for one or more of the following formats:
- 3-Hour Workshop (Thursday, September 24)
- One-Hour Presentation Session (Friday, September 25 or Saturday, September 26)
- Pecha Kucha (20 minutes, 20 slides; Friday or Saturday)
This is an opportunity to share your expertise with advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) and contribute to the advancement of nurse practitioner practice.
Important Reminders
- All presentations must be free of bias (e.g., no industry or pharmaceutical slides). Slides may require advance review by the TNP Education Committee.
- Specify the number of minutes addressing Texas Board of Nursing requirements for each objective, including:
- O = Opioids
- J = Jurisprudence
- E = Ethics
- PMP = Prescription Monitoring Program
- G = Geriatrics
- RX = Pharmacology
Qualifications for these hours can be found on the Texas Board of Nursing website.
- High-quality abstracts may be invited to convert to a poster presentation or to present at the TNP Pharmacology Conference.
Abstract Selection Process
The TNP Education Committee will review all abstracts submitted for workshops, sessions, Pecha Kucha, and poster presentations. Selections will be based on:
- Relevance of content to the interests of nurse practitioners.
- Alignment with TNP’s mission, vision, and values (visit www.texasnp.org for details).
- Speaker qualifications.
- Integration within the conference curriculum.
Presenters will be notified of acceptance by early May 2026. Accepted presenters must submit an abbreviated resume or CV.
Abstract Review Criteria
Abstracts will be evaluated based on:
- Relevance: Topic aligns with TNP’s mission, vision, and values.
- Focus: Content supports TNP’s priorities, including evidence-based practice, leadership, research, advocacy, and related areas.
- Quality: Content is precise, comprehensive, current, and applicable to APRN practice.
- Audience Suitability: Content is appropriate for advanced practice registered nurses.

- Acute Care
- Advocacy/Legislative Issues
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)
- Family/Adult Health
- Pediatrics
- Geriatrics
- Women’s Health
- Psychiatric/Mental Health
- Professional Development
- Business/Clinic Ownership
Speaker Honorarium
- Workshop Speakers: $500 per workshop.
- Session Speakers: $300 per session (divided three ways for Pecha Kucha presenters).
- Speakers may choose to donate their honorarium back to TNP.
- Speakers wishing to attend the TNP Conference must register separately, as no discounts are provided.
